Organic at Heart have a beautiful ‘silk’ sponge harvested fresh from the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea. The sponges grow naturally and are a renewable source. Experienced divers harvest the sponges from depths of 40-45 metres. The greatest care is taken to protect the seabeds. The roots and stems of these sponges are left intact so that the sponges can regenerate themselves. Unlike other sponges on the market which have been bleached heavily to give them their creamy yellow colour, Organic at Heart sponges are unbleached. They remain a dark brown colour (just as you would find them on the sea beds). Because they do not go through this harsh bleaching process they are stronger. Better for them, for you and for the environment. Organic at Heart silk sponges offer a very natural, soft, durable and hygienic alternative to synthetic sponges or traditional cloth flannels. They are particularly ideal for babies and anyone with sensitive skin. When dry they feel quite hard, but these highly absorbent sponges feel like velvet when wet.
