Argan Oil Argan Oil is a truely exceptional oil, until recently a little known secret of the nomadic and pastoralist Berber tribes of Morocco. Protected by UNESCO, the Argan tree, which grows only in southern Morocco is an important species not only for its virtuous oil, but also for helping to prevent encroachment by the Sahara desert. Only the ripe fruits are knocked off the tree. The fruits are gathered and sun-dried. The pulp is removed then the nut-like inner cases are cracked by Berber women between two stones (a hammer stone and stone anvil) in the time mannered tradition, revealing several kernels. Argan Lip Balm, Balme d'Argan, is an exceptionally soothing and luxurious lip balm made according to the most simple recipe by a Moroccan villager. Concocted just from the finest Virgin Argan oil (lots of it), beeswax and gum acacia, nothing else is added because nothing else is needed. The highest quality ingredients are sourced direct from small Argan and honey producers from the foothills of the Moroccan Atlas mountains and thanks to an ancient trade route, the legendary city of Timbuktu. Directions Using the finger rub Argan lip balm in a circular motion following the contour of the lips. Then change the direction of motion to assure the optimum penetration. If the lips are exceptionally dry, apply a second coat as soon as the first application been absorbed. Remember to cleanse the lips at least twice a day with a gentle floral water. After cleasing re-apply Balme d'Argan. Balme d'Argan can also be applied on top of lipstick.
